Your questions about Oribisoft, answered.
From your first product listing to life after launch week. Here’s how Oribisoft works.
General
What is Oribisoft?
Oribisoft is a launch and discovery platform for independent software. Makers share products, visitors find useful tools, and the community supports launches through voting.
About OribisoftWho is Oribisoft for?
Independent makers, solo founders, small software teams, and people looking for useful tools. You can explore without building a product of your own.
Is Oribisoft free?
Browsing, creating an account, submitting eligible products, and voting are currently free. Premium Launch is planned for a later phase and is not available to purchase. There is no paid placement or guaranteed promotion in the current launch flow.
What types of products can I discover?
Software across AI tools, AI agents, developer tools, productivity, open source, marketing, and indie SaaS. Listings should describe real, useful products.
Browse categoriesDo I need an account to browse products?
No. Public product pages, maker profiles, categories, and weekly archives are available without signing in. You need an account to vote or manage a product.
How is Oribisoft different from other product launch platforms?
Oribisoft combines weekly competitions with ongoing product discovery. Weekly results are preserved, while public product pages, maker profiles, categories, and lifetime voting keep working after launch week.
Launching products
How do I launch a product on Oribisoft?
Sign in, enter your website, and review any auto-filled suggestions or add the details manually. Save your product, choose Save & Get Badge to enable its limited public prelaunch page, install the supplied Oribisoft badge on your website, and use the manual verification action. Then choose an eligible week and submit to launch. Publication depends on verification, eligibility, and an available weekly slot.
Submit a productCan anyone submit a product?
Anyone with an account can submit software they own or are authorized to represent. Provide accurate details, use assets you have permission to share, and follow the community guidelines.
Read the guidelinesIs founder approval required?
No. The current self-service launch flow uses badge verification and server-side eligibility checks instead of founder approval. The founder can still suspend harmful or rule-breaking listings.
Can I save a product as a draft?
Yes. Save your details privately and return through My products. Saving a draft does not reserve a launch slot or publish your listing. Choosing Save & Get Badge enables a limited public prelaunch page with your product name, tagline, and expected launch week. It does not publish your full listing or reserve a slot, and the page is marked noindex.
Can I schedule a launch for a future week?
Yes. Choose an available future Monday from the launch options. A successfully scheduled product publishes when that weekly edition begins, subject to ongoing eligibility.
Can I launch during the current week?
Yes, when a slot is available and your product passes verification and eligibility checks. It publishes immediately and competes only for the time remaining before the next Monday at 00:00 UTC. There is no time weighting or extension.
How many products can launch each week?
Each weekly edition has 12 occupied launch slots. A slot is reserved only when your launch submission succeeds; saving a draft or selecting a week alone does not reserve one.
Can I edit my product after submission?
Use My products to edit the fields and actions available for your product’s current status. Some changes are restricted after scheduling or publication. A website URL change invalidates its previous verification and requires a new check before launch eligibility is restored. Edits do not grant a second launch.
Manage your productsCan I launch the same product more than once?
No. The current system allows one launch per product. Updating a product does not create a new competition entry, and duplicate listings must not be used to bypass this rule.
What happens if all weekly slots are filled?
Keep your draft and choose another available edition. Capacity is checked when you submit, so a week can fill between viewing its availability and completing your launch.
Weekly competitions
How do weekly launches work?
Up to 12 products take part in each edition. Scheduled products publish at its start; eligible current-week submissions join immediately. Valid votes during the fixed competition window determine weekly standings.
When does a weekly competition start and end?
Each edition starts Monday at 00:00 UTC and ends at the next Monday at 00:00 UTC. The end is exclusive: votes at or after that deadline do not count toward the previous week.
How are weekly rankings calculated?
Products are ranked by valid weekly vote count, highest first. Ties are resolved by earlier publication time, then a stable product identifier. There is no paid ranking boost or adjustment for joining later in the week.
What happens when the week ends?
The weekly voting window closes and finalization records the results. The product page stays available subject to platform policies, and lifetime voting continues. A delayed finalization does not extend the weekly voting window.
How are the top-three products selected?
The first, second, and third positions in the finalized weekly ranking receive the corresponding winner recognition. Awards depend on actual finalized results; no award is guaranteed by submitting a product.
Can people continue voting after the competition ends?
Yes. Signed-in visitors can add or remove their lifetime vote on published products. Those later changes affect lifetime totals, not the finalized weekly result. Each account can have at most one active vote per product launch.
Can historical rankings change?
Finalized weekly counts, ranks, and awards are preserved independently of lifetime votes. Later vote additions or removals do not rewrite them. Moderation can affect whether a listing is visible, without turning later lifetime votes into weekly competition votes.
Website badge verification
Why do I need to add an Oribisoft badge?
A valid website-bound Oribisoft badge is required for launch eligibility. It connects your product website to its Oribisoft listing. Verification checks the badge; it is not a security audit or endorsement of your software.
How do I verify my website?
Save your product, copy its eligible badge embed, publish it on the submitted website URL, and click Verify in your product’s badge controls. Verification is manual; there is no automatic recurring badge crawl. Use the status and retry guidance shown in your workspace.
Where should I place the badge?
Place the supplied embed visibly on the page at your submitted website URL, often in its footer. Keep the linked badge image and its Oribisoft product link intact in the returned HTML. A badge added only by client-side JavaScript or hidden inside an iframe will not pass the HTML check.
What happens if verification fails?
A missing badge and a technical verification error are different outcomes. Check the exact submitted URL, the supplied embed, and whether the page can be fetched publicly, then retry when allowed. A temporary fetch error is not proof that a badge was removed. Launching remains subject to a successful valid verification; there is no exemption.
What happens if I change my website URL?
Verification is tied to the submitted website URL. Changing it invalidates the earlier verification. Install the correct badge at the new URL and verify again; scheduling or launch actions remain subject to the current eligibility rules.
Do winner badges work differently?
First-, second-, and third-place badges become available only when your product has earned the matching finalized weekly award. They do not bypass website verification. Before a first launch, use the eligible featured badge supplied by your workspace.
Accounts and maker profiles
How do I create a maker profile?
Create an account, then complete your display name, public username, and optional maker details in Settings. Google sign-in may ask you to choose a public username during account setup.
Open SettingsCan people view my public maker profile?
Yes. Your public maker page shows your display name, username, optional bio and links, and public products. It does not display your account email, private drafts, or moderation feedback. Search indexing is separately subject to public profile and published-product eligibility.
Where can I find my public profile link?
Open Settings and use View public profile near the page heading. If a public profile is not available yet, use the setup action to complete your username instead of following a broken link.
Find your profile in SettingsCan I update my maker information?
Yes. Settings lets you update the available profile fields, including display name, username, bio, avatar, website, and supported social links. Previous usernames redirect to your current profile and cannot be claimed by another account.
How can I manage my products?
Your maker dashboard and My products show your own listings and their current status. Available actions depend on whether a product is a draft, scheduled, published, or suspended.
Open My productsWhat analytics can makers see?
Where enabled, private maker analytics report views, website-button clicks, approximate daily visitors, broad referral sources, and vote performance for their own products. They do not expose individual visitor identities or guarantee customer conversions. Disabled collection, privacy preferences, and filtered requests can affect counts.
How product analytics workSearch and discovery
Will my product stay listed after launch week?
Yes. Published product pages remain discoverable after their competition and continue accepting lifetime votes, subject to platform rules, owner actions, and moderation.
Can Google discover my product page?
Eligible published pages have public URLs and search metadata, and can appear in the sitemap. Search engines decide whether and when to crawl, index, and rank them. Private drafts, future launches, and optional noindex prelaunch pages are not indexable published listings.
Can AI search engines discover Oribisoft listings?
Public, eligible product pages can be accessed by discovery systems under the site’s crawl rules. Each system decides what to retrieve, use, or cite. Inclusion in an AI answer is not guaranteed.
Does Oribisoft guarantee backlinks or SEO rankings?
No. A listing provides a public product presence and a website link, subject to eligibility and platform policies. Oribisoft does not guarantee backlink value, indexing, rankings, visitors, customers, revenue, or AI mentions.
How do visitors find products by category?
Browse the category directory or use the product directory’s category filters. Each category leads to relevant public products.
Explore all categoriesModeration and support
Can Oribisoft suspend a product?
Yes. The founder can suspend harmful, misleading, or rule-breaking products. A successful badge check does not prevent moderation.
Community guidelinesWhat products are not allowed?
Spam, fake or misleading products, unauthorized duplicates, impersonation, stolen content, malware, malicious links, fraudulent products, and illegal content are not allowed. Vote manipulation and harassment also violate the community rules.
